Working in partnership with ISG PLC on the refurbishment of an existing building for the North West Construction Hub to provide M&E engineering services to a high security Pupil Referral Centre at the Plymouth Grove in Manchester.

The description of works undertaken include:

Mechanical services
High efficiency condensing Heating and HWS plant and equipment. Boosted pressurised MCWS and HWS distribution to sanitary and wash facilities. Thermostatically zone controlled underfloor heating throughout the complex with supplementary LST heat emitters provide the comfort environmental control.

Combination of natural and mechanical heat recovery ventilation systems to all teaching spaces with temperature and Co2 control.

Water saving and vandal proof devices throughout the WC/washing facilities.

Kitchen mechechanical services comprising supply & extract ventilation, gas and water wash/cleaning services including waste services.

Electrical services
New LV distribution throughout comprising of new split load lighting and power distribution boards and a new main MCCB panel board.

Fully Part L and CIBSE TM39 compliant metering strategy benefitting from BMS linking for remote energy monitoring and ease of billing.

New wiring and containment throughout complete with future spare capacity designed-in.
New category 6 structured data cabling installation throughout & associated cabinetry.

Secure by design – appropriate selection of equipment and systems, effectively utilized to provide a robust fit for purpose installation, comprising of the following:

Highly impact resistant LED lighting throughout with intelligent controls providing presence/absence detection and daylight dimming. Luminaires in higher risk areas mounted at high level out of reach, those installed in modular ceilings are complete with IK10 diffusers and T bar clamps to retain the body of the fitting in the ceiling.

Part M compliant metal accessories & robust powder coated metal trunking systems.

Ancillary services including tamper proof fire alarms, disabled refuge alarm, disabled toilet alarm, impact resistant IK10 dome CCTV cameras internally & protective camera cages provided externally. Metal access control proximity readers, key switch emergency egress controls and full height 600KG door mag locks.
